10 more things

Sorry it has been so long since ive written. honestly, it seems like there isnt much going on around here. So I decided to tell you 10 more things about me that you might not know. Sorry if there are repeats, it's hard to remember all 100+ things ive written before!

1. In my youth I played basketball, volleyball, softball, and took gymnastics (til jr. high), and unfortunately I was a cheerleader my senior year for football and basketball. I say unfortunately because I wasnt dedicated at all, and only did it to 1) be with my friends, and 2) ride on the bus with the guys. Which they ended up not allowing anyway.

2. My favorite frozen pizza is Freshetta. And I will be honest, there arent a lot of restaurant pizzas that are impressing me these days.

3. I enjoy doing laundry.

4. I sometimes forget what I am talking about or what another person is talking about and make up random comments that I hope fit with what was being said. Easily distracted? Umm yes. I wonder if this goes along with being a light sleeper--I can be easily distracted from sleep too.

5. I succeeded in getting a BA of Arts in Theatre participating in only one theatre performance as part of the chorus in the musical "The Pajama Game." However I did earn my Concentration in Dance by taking every class offered at the college. I am embarrassed to admit I havent danced in over 2 years now.

6. I am one of the biggest backseat drivers to ever live. I have an organized, methodical way of doing things...everything...and it seems my husband does not. When we drive together I am allowed 5 corrections on him each day. If I go over 5, I have to look him in the eye and without attitude say, "You are obviously a much better driver than I will ever be."

7. I hope to have another baby soon.

8. I am terrified of thunderstorms.

9. Since having a baby I am much more comfortable with my body and the things I didnt like about it before. I used to try so hard to hide the flaws and would get really down on myself for not being perfect. Now I accept the things I know arent perfect, realizing there isnt much I can do about them. So I have funny toes...who cares? Dont like my thighs? Keep em covered! It has freed me from a lot of unnecessary baggage.

10. I have blue eyes. Ok, it's a lame one to end on but seriously I cant think of a single other thing to write!

So

I was sitting at a stoplight a couple of days ago and thought, "Man, my breath is bad." And started thinking back to what I had eaten that day, etc. Finally it dawned on me I had forgotten to brush my teeth that morning! Now maybe that is no big deal to some of you, but I find it pretty disgusting. That means I had not freshened my mouth since before bed the night before, and morning mouth is the worst. I had gotten so busy taking care of my daughter that I managed to get my makeup on and, thankfully, my clothes, but had left out that one major detail that I and most of the rest of the world consider quite important! So there I was around 300 in the afternoon with not only morning mouth, but next day mouth too.

This type of thing has happened to me once before, too. One day while at work a few years back I was really under the gun, (kinda like that girl on the "Degree" anti-perspirant commercial who is running from the man with the black gloves and awakens from the dream to realize he isnt just a dream but actually the one removing the headphones, that girl drives me crazy by the way) when I realized I had forgotten to put on deodorant that day! I spent the rest of the day trying to keep my elbows pasted to my sides to avoid starting any rumors. I could just hear my co-workers behind my back, "Have you noticed she's had BO lately?" No! Not lately, just today because she for got to put on her sheer Secret solid!

So now Im heading off to brush my teeth, get each step of my daily routine completed, and rest in the comfort that I smell pretty good today.

Random thoughts

I pulled into a gas station yesterday, right off the highway, because I thought I might not make it home with so little gas left in the tank. In a little cluster on the pavement right there at the gas station was a group of chickens, just walking around a pecking the ground for food.....at a gas station..... in Atlanta, GA.

My love affair with Hot Pockets has resumed. Barbecue are da bomb. Can I get a witness?!

"Peep and the Big Wide World" is the best morning cartoon? (sorry ward, not sure if that is what I should call it) on tv these days for toddlers. TLC airs it 800am M-F and Joan Cusack is the narrator. Very funny and charming and witty and appealing to adults as well.

The whole Nick and Jessica thing just needs to be addressed. All the back and forth, all the bickering and drama, in the words of Marvin Gaye, "What's Going On?" Nick needs to back off a little and stop getting so irritated all the time. It's not like he didnt know what he was getting himself into when he married her. And Jessica needs to get rid of her sidekick/assistant and let she and her husband enjoy married life without a third party involved. Especially when she is lining her loyalties with her friend all the time rather than her man. Ahhhemmm, I really dont pay much attention to the tabloids, really, I uhm, really I dont!

And, that is all for today. Bye-bye.

Top 5's

Here are my top 5 memories of today's birthday party for my daughter (2):

5. her excitement at seeing the house decorated
4. watching her try to blow out her candles
3. her excitement at seeing her grandparents and cousin
2. giving her the big red wagon
1. singing happy birthday! (her favorite part is when everyone claps at the end of the song, so she likes to hear you sing the first sentence or so and then says "hooray! " and starts clapping and smiling really big.)
