Good Times
Well it has been a long time since Ive posted. I guess sometimes I just dont know how to get my thoughts together and put them into a concise message or point. That and the fact that I have very little time to actually write anymore! And the fact that we have lost the cord that dumps the photos from the camera to the computer so I cant post any new ones. So I keep putting off posting.
We are so thankful to be in our new location. I just cant say it enough. Minutes from everything we need, enjoy doing, and are a part of...plus a comfortable environment and lots of friends. It has been simply wonderful. It seems like we could settle here forever, and I love that because one of the things I loved most about my childhood was that familiarity of growing up in one town and knowing people thruout my school years. I am so glad we will be able to give that to the girls. Our house is feeling more and more like a home now that the basement is almost finished, and we are settling into regular life.
I think part of the peace also comes from winter ending and spring being here in full force. We were sick the entire winter with more illnesses than I ever thought imaginable! I am so glad to have had weeks of healthy happy kids, and time outside to play. Down here in the south we treasure these weeks of Spring because before long May will arrive and the humidity will set in and the dog days of summer will drive us back indoors. It has been so refreshing to get out each day with the girls...walking, yes, WALKING to the park (we used to live 15 minutes drive from the nearest park and I am loving this) with a great library along the way. Our front porch has also become such a wonderful surprise, with the girls spending hours outside playing in the sandbox and picking dandilions like they are going out of style.
And how can I forget to mention how great television has been these days. So many great shows to choose from. I know, I know, I shouldnt care so much about tv, but I really look forward to some of the great dramas and comedies we have this year! LOST is still right up there at the top of the list for me. This second leg since January has been pretty amazing, and I love how they are finally giving us some answers. Some of our other favorites are The Office, Grey's Anatomy (ok, nate would have me clarify that that is not one of his personal favorites but mine) Heroes, and also Friday Night Lights. If you arent watching this show you should be. Ok, it looks like a teenager show about football, but it is so much more than that. The writing is exceptional, the acting is point on--almost every character is downright believable, and the relationship between Coach Taylor and his wife is the most realistic portrayal of a marriage that there is on tv. AND if you grew up in a small town, you wont be able to resist such a true reveal of what life was like there. Watch this show!!! Ok, Ill step off my soap box now. Tv is good these days, and I cant wait til the end of the hiatus.
Life is good, and so is having a family to love and take care of and live with and all that stuff. Sometimes I get so tired of it all and find myself complaining. But really, these are good times.
